STOFORD
The day started cloudy so I tended the garden until about 11am when the sky cleared and we had glorious sunshine for the rest of the day. So, I went for a walk along my usual track at around 12 noon, I had already seen 12 species in the garden: Blue, Great, Coal and Long-tailed Tit, Robin, Wren, Blackbird, Chaffinch, House Sparrow, Magpie, Wood Pigeon, Crow and Jackdaw.
The start of the track just 200 meters from our home
a view down to the river at the top of the hill towards the end of the walk
During the walk I added Redwing, Fieldfare, Green Woodpecker, Goldfinch, Linnet, Raven, Herring Gull, Common Buzzard, Common Starling and not much else.
a cryptic view of the Green Woodpecker - you can just make out the facial markings, making this a male
Song Thrush
a flock of over 100 Corvids, mainly Rooks but also Jackdaws, Crows and a few Wood Pigeons
It was a lovely walk in beautiful weather, what more do you want?
