UPLYME TO LYME REGIS WALK
WEATHER: sunshine and clouds, nice 16C temperature, cold breeze.
As it was a nice day and the weather forecast for the next few was pants we decided to go for a walk along the River Lym and to take lunch at our favourite Lyme Regis pub.
I saw very few birds along the walk, nothing on or near the river, not a Dipper or a Grey Wagtail was in sight. A few common species were seen along the path and we heard Goldcrests in the trees.
At the beach the usual Gulls were dashing about and along the Cobb we saw many more people than birds. On the far end of the water-break rocks sat a few Cormorants with two Ringed Plovers and more Gulls. The tide was out and many Turnstones were searching the exposed mud in the small harbour for morsels of food with a couple of Rock Pipits and Pied Wagtails.

Low Tide in the Lyme Regis Harbour - the mud had small numbers of Turnstones a few Rock Pipits feeding there
We ate lunch at the Royal Standard, they serve the best Mousaka you are ever likely to taste in the UK. It was a slow walk back to the car, heavy stomachs!! We completed our 10,000 steps by the time we got back.
